Lakes, canyons, falls and the cutest thing ever

This is the Maligne lake cruise. You dont get a view like this in New Zealand

Maligne Canyon is where water has calved a narrow slit through the rock. The water was fast and it was really cool to look deep down

Here I am being really silly with a snowball on my head. This was after we walked to a lake through falling snow

This was the lake we walked too. It was very very blue and dont you think it looks like a dog.

This is the Athabasca Falls. They roared

Aww and heres my favourite - another 2 bear cubs. Lots younger than the ones we saw in Alaska and so so cute. I just wanted to cuddle them.

In the snow

This is me and Dad standing by a super big snow coach on the Athabasca Glacier!!
This is me and Dad standing on he boundary of the safe part of the Glacier with the Canada flag behind us!!
This is me and Mum standing in front of a snow coach. These things are huge. The wheels of the coach were just about as big as me!!
And this is the sky walk. I don't know how my Dad walked on that, He is super scared of heights, And this thing was hanging of a cliff face. Even the floor was glass!!
This is me And mum on the sky walk. It was so high!!
And this one is me and Mum on the sky walk again. Now you can see how high it really was!!
And this is me attempting to eat some snow. After his my gloves were super wet and I went to put them on today to make my hands warm but they made them colder!!
And when we were going to our hotel room This ginormous Black bear was crossing the road. Mum was like "JON STOP THE CAR THERE'S SOMETHING CROSSING THE ROAD!!!" and Dad slammed on the break and made me hit the set in front of me!! And then we saw a black bear just crossing the road. We have now see 2 bears and 1 Elk (Deer) crossing the road. In total i have seen 13 adult bears, 4 bear cubs up TREE'S and 3 Elk ( Dear). we are so lucky.

TO CANADA THRU THE NORTH CASCADES

 Rendered Image
Today we went to a lot of lovely rivers and water falls.
First we went to a suspension bridge to get to a really cold water fall that was fed by snow melt.
It was super high and there was so much water falling down. it was incredible.
My favourite spot was the road that was closed because of a super thick blanket of snow. Me and Dad had a snowball fight and Snow-Ball ( Base Ball with snow and a small log to hold). It was funny when Dad climbed a little snow hill and said "I need to be careful and look for the crevasses, I wouldn't want to fall 100 Meters." Even thou the hill wasn't a Glacier. it was snow about 3 Feet (Half a meter).
And then Dad got muddled up and started to drive on the Left hand side of the road when we are in a Right hand country, It was lucky that we were on a quiet road and no other cars were coming other wise that would have been a disaster.
That's my day for you.!.!.

Ketchikan - Alaska

Today my Mum got Food Poisoning after eating some fish, so it was a Hannah Daddy day!!!
We Went to Ketchikan for  one of our ports and went on a Helicopter.
These are some photos up in the helicopter

On the way to the meadow We saw some Mountain Goats on the top of a VERY BIG Mountain sleeping in the snow and as soon as they heard the Helicopter They all ran away!!
Here is a photo of me and Dad on a very big log inn the meadow with the helicopter in the background!!
And then we just casually landed the helicopter in the river. The pilot told up that "people say the want to go on a helicopter but the want to lane on the water so we will go on a float plain, Well watch this" and landed it in the river. SUPER COOL!!!
This is the oldest town in Alaska, Probably 150 years old. They have put gift shops in the houses now But I think they should make them houses that you can live in.!.!
This is a photo of me standing in the Town Of Creak Street!!
(the oldest town)
the Carnival Cruise boats make towel animals for you every nigh. Our Cleaner I GEDE (GEDE) is amazing at making them. This is one of the eight he made!!
Full Moons In Alaska
SO COOL!!!!

Skagway - Alaska

So just to prove we really did go to Alaska, here we are by the official sign and also me by the sign into the Yukon which is in Canada.

So in Skagway we went on a bus and train trip over a mountain pass called White Pass - probably because of the snow. We ended up at a place called Caribou Crossing in the Yukon for lunch - in a covered wagon - but there were too many very big mozzies I didnt find it much fun and left Mum and dad to it. They bought me a ice cream later on.

But I did love the Alsakan Husky puppy dogs which I was able to have a cuddle with - yippee.

There were also 3 grown dogs that had been retired from mushing - which is dogs pulling sleds over the snow - and I was able to pet them and feed them treats. They were lovely too.

But wow wow wow they best and most exciting thing we saw were black bears - just on the side of the road.

This is 2 bear cubs up a tree and mama bear was having a sleep at the bottom

How cute is that. I never thought I would see a baby bear up a tree.

And this is the cool old train we had a ride on back from the summit into town

Here it is coming out of a tunnel and crossing over a trestle bridge

This is Skagway

And this is Mum and me after a fantastic day out heading back to our cruise ship

Juneau - Alaska

BTW Its pronounced Jou-no

Wow wow wow - today in Juneau we went on a boat trip to see the whales - which we did. It was awesome to see the blowholes first and then other bits of the whale surface. We were so lucky cause we were so close and the whale was also in a very small sheltered bay so it was easy to see and also easy to stand on the boat to watch. The whale tail is cool - it is actually called the fluke. We did see a whale breach - but it was so quick we missed getting a photo of it. A breach is when they completely come out of the water. It was a big splash though.

On the boat trip back into the marina our boat and the other boat had porpoises leading us. They are fast and really hard to see and catch on camera, but my dad managed it. They are black and white like the Orca whale but smaller than a dolphin. It was cool watching them splash around having fun

On the same tour we also went on a bush walk to see the Mendenhall Glacier. It was big. There was also a waterfall close by it called Nugget Falls. You can see how big it is by the little people standing in front.

And there was a bald eagle at the Marina for us to see. We also saw one in captivity at Skagway so saw it up close. They are really really big birds.

Alaska - On the Cruise - part 1

Endicott Fjord is an Ice land it has so many Icebergs. One of the big Ice bergs scrapped along the side of our boat...luckily we didn't do a 'Titanic'.
Carnival Legend cruising down the silky seas at Endicott Fjord
A 'Calving' (falling glacier ice into the sea) at the end of Endicott Fjord
Glacier bay is so pretty...lots of Whales, Orca, Sea Otters and Sea Lions
Another 'Calving' Glacier in Glacier bay, they make a real boom when they fall...sounds like a gun going off and echo's around the mountains
One of the many sea otters we saw...this one is lying on his back 'praying'...zoom in a little bit to see it better
